Support Teams

Looking for ways to support those currently fostering/adopting?  Listed below are areas in which you are able to get involved in serving these families!

Babysitting/Respite Team

Fostering and adopting can be stressful on families when going through the transition of adding a new member to their family whether for a short amount of time or long term.  This ministry is for individuals and/or families willing to support our adoptive and fostering families through babysitting or respite.

*For those involved in serving our foster families, a background check may be done by their respective foster care agency if needed.  Please don't let this hinder you from signing up.  This is a very quick and painless step that benefits our families immensely!

Donation Team

When families get a placement for fostering it is often suddenly and without much warning.  Often children come without anything but the clothes on their backs.  Needs may arise such as cribs, nursery gear, clothing, etc..  What an opportunity for the church body to be able to step in and serve!  If you are interested in donating or lending items please contact Lisa Schwarz at 309.383.4270 or Schwarz8@mtco.com to be added to our email list.  When needs arrive, they will be listed here as well as emailed to the following team in order to fulfill the need.

Meal Team

We provide meals for our fostering and adoptive families as needed when a child is brought into their home.  If you are interested in serving our families in this way please contact Deb Graham for Bethany Baptist Church or Lisa Schwarz at Bethany Community Church 309.383.4270 Schwarz8@mtco.com for more information.

Prayer Team

Because the process of fostering and adoption is often a lengthy and difficult one, we believe God’s assistance is essential throughout the process. An email prayer chain is updated weekly for each family and all requests are prayed for daily by a team of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to pray for these families, please contact Amy Park for more information.
